Using the mining panel

The mining panel provides information on your current mining operation, or previous mining operations

The panel shows the mining operation state, taken from the position of the history panel cursor. The panel looks at the cursor position, and finds the last (before the cursor) and next (after the cursor) dock, undock, FSD Jump, touchdown or lift off event to analyse. These bound the analysis.

It then collects statistics between those events and present a table of information and optionally a chart.

The panel shows limpets left at the end of the mining event (or the current state if your in mining), cargo left, prospectors fired, collectors deployed, and asteroids cracked.

It gives a table of minerals collected and refined, showing you:

  • Number refined (if its been refined)
  • Number collected (if its a material collected)
  • Number of asteroids that the prospector found it in.
  • Ratio of asteroids that the material was found in
  • Average %
  • Minimum %
  • Maximum %
  • Number of times its been the mother load material
  • High/Medium/Low counts for that material (or all Asteroids for the Asteroids Pros. row)
  • A Flag (*) if its a new discovery

It will also show a cumulative frequency distribution bar chart for one to eight materials found by the prospector (sorted by refined number). Use the drop down box to select no chart, or one, two, three, four or up to eight items, or alternatively just the material you want to display.

The chart shows the % above rate for a particular content %. So for instance here, its showing that Tritium, if you want more than 30% content, then its probability is less than 10% of you finding that in an asteroid.

The >0 button allows you to disable rows which have not been refined.

The Excel button will output a CSV file which contains the data that was gathered by the panel.

Note you can roll up the toolbar to hide the buttons

The panel can be popped out and made transparent, and be placed in front of the ED screen for a heads up display.
