Spansh Integration with EDDiscovery
EDD integrates with Spansh in the following manner:
EDD can use Spansh to obtain details on star systems. It can also use EDSM.
EDD checks after each program start and downloads new star data from EDSM or Spansh when required. This is all done automatically.
We strongly advise only to store this data on a SSD. Not on a HDD. The data set is too large now for HDD. Make sure you select an SSD location for application data in the installer, or use safe mode to select a custom location for the system DB.
Downloading data from this service for star database takes bandwidth and disk space. Here you can limit this.

Turn on/off star data download : If disabled, no EDSM/Spansh downloads takes place

Galaxy Select : Indicate which areas of the galaxy to store from data obtained from EDSM/Spansh. This will limit your disk space usage, but not the download size.
You can download the whole data from EDSM/Spansh say on Wifi then turn off the data feed if using a bandwidth limited service (4G) etc. This will stop database updates, so you'd need to turn it on when you're using an unlimited connection again to get the data updated.
You can control the download of this data via the settings panel to limit data bandwidth used.
Spansh buttons on this panel allow you to find routes using the Spansh API.
This presents a view of the stations in a system, or across systems, which are known to Spansh.
A browsable version of Spansh presented in an EDD panel. Downloading a route from this panel in CSV format automatically fills that route into the Expedition panel.
Various panels have the right click option to open the system view on Spansh of the system selected
