Using the Captains Log Panel

The captains log panel allows you to enter diary entries of your travels.

The captains log by default shows you a diary page of a selected month. The two top icons on the left allow you to select between the diary page and the entries page.

Shown above is the diary page for 2019 October. Two dates are highlighted, the 7th and the 16th, showing that there are entries for that date.

If you click on a highlighted date, the panel changes to the entry page, with the date selected. If you click on a un-highlighted date, it changed to the entry page but with a new entry made ready for you to insert details. You can also click on the month text to switch to the entry page to view the whole months entries.

You can also click on the entry icon to switch to the entry page, in which case the date range selected in that page won't be changed from last time you were on it.

The entry page shows:

The Start/End date selectors can be adjusted to show different date ranges.

You can using the toolbar to:

  • Search text
  • Filter on a tag assigned to an entry
  • Create a new entry
  • Delete the highlighted entry
  • Edit the tag list
  • Export the log to a CSV file.

Creating a new entry using the toolbar causes the time, system and body fields to be auto-filled to your current time and location. You can edit them if required. The automatic filling of the system name and the body does not work when the "End Date" checkbox is checked.

You can right click on an entry to show the system display of the star, see it on EDSM or Spansh, or show it in the 3D MAP.
