Using the Voice Pack Configuration Menu

The voice parameter menu allows the speech output to be further controlled.

Many options are supports to turn on or off various speech output.

  • Speech file section allows all speech output to be logged to a file. You can have the date time printed, and you can cause the file to be cleared before each phrase is written (Log last only). This is useful for OBS, as OBS can print a text file on screen and thus you could be showing your viewers the speech output

  • General section allows control of voice output, SSML (speech markup), Welcome message, Friend Status. It also allows you to have a subtitle box which is transparent and can be placed over Elite (when in borderless/windowed mode)

  • Texts section allows you to control what text types are vocalised, control if you use different voices for NPCs

  • FSD Jump section controls what is vocalised on FSD jumping

  • Exclude Stars Types stops vocalisation if a particular star matches the type listed in the field (enter AOK for instance)

  • Scan section controls what is vocalised when you get a scan report on a body. Most of them are self evident. Min Value means it won't vocalise unless the value is above this entry. Not Discovered when ticked means it won't vocalise if the body has already been discovered. Not Mapped is the same for mapped status.

  • EDSM section controls if, on entering a system, EDD asks EDSM for system data, and then vocalises it. You can select what is vocalised. Disable EDSM First Discovery will stop EDD indicating a body is an EDSM first discovery system if you've got your commander synced up with EDSM.

  • Nav Beacon controls what happens when a set of scans is received from a Nav beacon.

  • Targetting allows you to disable Ship target reports.
