EDD Web Server (Roccat Style Grid)

EDD 11.0+ supports a web server. This can serve pages to your tablet, laptop or local browser.

Note from 12.1+ you will need a browser which supports the javascript ES6 standard. Check Compatibility here

Enable this feature in Settings.

This feature has been tested on Windows/Chrome, Windows/Firefox and Android/Chrome.

There may be rendering issues on other browsers or on other hardware as browser implementations of HTML/CSS are not uniform. Always use the the latest version of your browser.

Turning On Web Server

By default the web server is disabled. To enable it go to the settings panel and enable it by checking the enable box inside the web server section.

EDD will ask if you wish to set up a windows firewall rule to allow this feature to work. By default, without this rule, EDD won't see connections from external devices to your PC, as the firewall will block them. You only need to do this once per port number. Once you've done it on a particular port number, you don't need to repeat it again.

This has been tested to work on windows 10 in both normal user mode and as an administrator. If you're running as a normal user windows will ask you for the password of the admin/superuser to get the required permission to execute the needed commands.

EDD will then add the firewall rule to windows allowing TCP connections to EDD on the port specified.

If you are running a third party firewall you'll have to do this manually. Set up a inbound rule to allow TCP traffic on the port number specified on the settings panel.

If the EDD web site is not working on a tablet in the same network as the device running EDD, it's because the firewall rule has not been set up and the program is not seeing the TCP connection.

If you previously used the webserver on a port in administrator mode and now want to use it in normal user mode, you have to uncheck the enable checkbox on the settings panel and recheck it again to make EDD execute the needed commands again.

For the grid buttons to work EDD and Elite have to be running on the same device. Grid functions only work if you bound a key to that function in Elite. Default key bindings don't work as the required binding files are only generated by Elite if you set up a custom scheme (you can see if EDD loaded your bindings by clicking "List Elite Bindings" in the help menu). Note that EDD is unable to emulate joystick buttons, therefor you need to assign an alternate keyboard key if one of these functions is only bound to a joystick button.

History Page

This shows the journal view and the current status (like the history panel).

The journal view can be scrolled up and down. Clicking the icon of an event sets the history to that point in time and the info on the right side get updated.

Using the hamburger menu you can set the width of the history grid.

Scan Page

This page shows an image of the system you're currently in (like the scan panel).

Using the hamburger menu you're able to customise the things that are shown. The "Valueable Limit" of this page is independent from the one in the scan panel of EDD and can be set in this menu.

Scan Grid page

This page shows a grid of the scanned bodies in a system and their most important stats (like the scan grid panel).

Using the hamburger menu you can select if you want materials and values to be shown.

Status Page

The left side of this page shows a summary of your current status. The right side of this page shows a set of status icons in the top section and a set of available actions that can be sent to Elite in the bottom section.

NOTE: You won't see status icons until Elite is running, as it bases the icons shown on Elite's current game state.

The icons change dependent on the game mode.
