Call-outs

  1. Nick on leave this week. Suggest not scheduling a separate client sync tomorrow.

  2. Sprint planning: suggest canceling tomorrow, rescheduling for Friday, reduced to an hour (short sprint due to Thanksgiving)

  3. Audit update:

  • Week one, starting 11/19: auditor in Argentina, working with Dell laptop that may have issues -- will fall back to code review if necessary
  • Week two, starting 11/26: auditor on NYC, working with laptop we provide
  1. Remaining must-do workstation tasks

Code freeze across repos: ideally by EOD today.

  1. Emmanuel proposes canceling the support sync this morning. Brief Q re client call in Semaphor.

Conor

Yesterday: Workstation focus. sd-journalist/sd-proxy renaming. Spent time on salt config -> led to "Declare salt deps" PR.

Today: Code verification story. Testing clean install.

Yesterday: Out due to free software conference in Seattle (fun).

Today: Support tasks to relieve other team members

Yesterday: Doc sprint. On Friday, work on hiring task for our open Sr. Eng. position.

Today: 3 phone screens. Workstation alpha follow-up / task & board cleanup. Some post-alpha prep.

Heartsucker

Was trying to work on replies feature -- became massive because it touched too many parts of the project. Once alpha is done, can move back in.

Can merge small PRs.

Yesterday:

Lots of docs

Reviewed / merged a couple client PRs from the hackathon (including a fix for the HTML injection issue discovered during the hackathon and fixed by Josh)

Today:

Finish https://github.com/freedomofpress/securedrop-client/issues/153 (important for audit and a blocker for delete source functionality), bug someone to review/merge

Fixup / merge https://github.com/freedomofpress/securedrop-client/pull/166

Fixup / merge https://github.com/freedomofpress/securedrop-client/pull/161 -> Moving off alpha

Implement https://github.com/freedomofpress/securedrop-client/issues/133, followup from security code review Mickael and I did last week

Discuss about what change we need to make with respect to code integrity for Python dependencies prior to the audit

Sit down with Mickael in afternoon and go through all the Python code again with an eye to the logging

Yesterday: PTO. Sunday was hackathon time.

Today: Catching up on support, alpha work. QA/review.

Tools for debs/wheels got updated; was testing those out to have better Makefile targets to improve stability of packaging story. Have 3 PRs open against securedrop-debian-packaging, *-guide. Have meeting w/ rest of the team related to packaging. Needed to build final packages.

Yesterday: (Friday) Built local workstation template RPM, push it up this morning.

Today: Get PR up by EOD on hosting logic. Will shut down GitLab

Yesterday: Small bugfixes, docs, QA. Uploading, building of packages.

Today: Will review Jen's PR, update docs on code verification. Code review w/ Jen. Happy to assist w/ QA/review as needed.
