To enter quest editing, use qedit <vnum>.

The Main Menu

Quest number: 123

This displays the current vnum you're working on.

1) Johnson: -1 (null)

This allows you to specify the NPC that will hand out the quest. All NPCs with that vnum will hand out the quest, so it's usually best to select a unique NPC that you only load once.

2) Time allowed (minutes): 0

The time a player can take to complete this quest.

3) Reputation range: 0-0

The minimum and maximum reputation values that the player can fall into in order to be able to take this quest.

4) Bonus nuyen: 0

A flat nuyen amount that is added to the calculated payout.

5) Bonus karma: 0.00

A flat karma amount that is added to the calculated payout.

6) Item objective menu

Allows you to specify things the PC must do with items in order to complete this quest.

7) Mobile objective menu

Allows you to specify things the PC must do with NPCs in order to complete this quest.

8) Introductory text: I've got an incomplete quest for you.

The opening teaser the Johnson replies with when a valid character says 'job' to them.

9) Decline text: That's too bad...later, chummer.

The text the Johnson says when the PC turns down the quest.

a) Quit text: Null sweat, chummer. Someone else'll finish the job

The text the Johnson says when the PC bails on the quest after accepting it.

b) Completed text: Well done.

The text the Johnson says when the quest is completed successfully and turned in.

c) Informational text:

The quest's description. Said to the character by the Johnson, and also available to them in their recap.

d) Johnson hours: Always

When the Johnson will give out quests. Usually should be set to Always.

e) Start work message: (null)

The message when the Johnson opens up quest-giving.

f) End work message: (null)

The message when the Johnson closes quest-giving.

g) Quest already completed message: (null)

The message the Johnson says to the player when they've already done the current quest.

h) Reward: -1 (null)

An item reward for the quest. If you're going to have item rewards, try to have items to turn in that weigh more or the same amount as the reward - this essentially ensures that a player will have room for an item.
