GeoTools Budget Request 2021
GeoTools faced considerable infrastructure change in 2020 with the migration from "boundless" build facilities to OSGeo Nexus and GeoCat Jenkins infrastructure. Due to services being shutoff there was simply not time to make use of the operational funds set aside for this activity in 2020 budget.
We also saw some solid quality assurance improvements done by Andrea on his own time. The larger technical debt activities need a bit of jump-start.
$2000 operational budget:
- Blogger (I know!) to anything else
- Issue tracker from Jira --> GitHub (popular request)
$3000 technical debt activities:
- Replace use of Eclipse Modeling Framework models for common OGC services
- Support migration from JAI to ImageN
We would like to plan GeoTools participation in the OSGeo code sprint, so far our community has expressed a preference to attend remotely.
We do not for see the need for assistance attending the 2020 AGM. One of our leadership will either be present at the event, or we will appoint a delegate to present on our behalf.
