Muting and blocking

The networks provides two ways on how you can limit the visibility of user’s posts and the interaction with other users: Muting and blocking.

Differences between muting and blocking

Muting posts:

  • Unilaterally hides posts of other users.
  • The posts of the muted user don’t appear neither on the post overview nor in the search results.

Blocking users:

  • Mutually limits the freedom of interaction between users as follows: – Both users are not able to comment the posts of the other. – Both users don’t get any notifications of the other.

Muting a user's posts

On the profile page of a user click the three dots next to his/her profile image and select Mute user.

List of muted users

You will find the list of muted users in your account settings on the page Muted users.

How to unmute

You can unmute a user either in your account settings or on their profile page.

  • in your account settings click on the page Muted users, then on the unmute button next to the respective user.
  • on the profile page of the respective user click the Unmute user button or click the three dots and then Unmute user.

Blocking a user

On the profile page of the user click the three dots next to his/her profile image and select Block user.

List of blocked users

In your account settings on the Blocked users page you will find the list of blocked users.

How to unblock

You can unblock a user either in your account settings or on their profile page:

  • in your account settings click Blocked users and then the unblock button next to the respective user.
  • on his/her profile page click the Unblock user button - or click the three dots and select Unblock user.
