Agenda

1. Production OpenGrid.io issues

  • Follow-up on fix to refreshing data sets
    • Fix has not yet been deployed, still working on testing. Hard to reproduce so trying to derive a strategy to do so.
    • Working on the stability around caching, but not sure that it will fix the issue.
  • Follow-up with UTurn of when v1.0.2 will be available on opengrid.io (it will resolve some the quick search errors)
    • Plan is to first fix the caching and then work on code to see if it can resolve both issues. Goal is by the evening of 4/25, but not sure of the version of the caching fix.

2. Review of existing work

Review progress on existing OpenGrid issues

See the Kanban board at https://waffle.io/Chicago/opengrid

  • [Service layer API] Geo-location Filtering is still in progress - opengrid-svc-layer#3
  • Rod: all of the geo-filtering is happening on the front end. There is already a plan to handle this, just need to implement the high level design.
  • Mobile: Add hyperlinks to show links to additional pages #178
    • @tomschenkjr to fix
  • [JSON service layer] Querying arrays #7
    • @himaniravella to fix
  • No return results from Quick Search #163
    • this is still an issue; may be fixed by v1.0.2 update

Update on AWS AMI Deployment

  • Moving Plenario API/web tier to auto-scaling zone #182 - work estimate by @willengler From 4/15 discussion:
    • The administrative panel in Plenario would need to be moved to a caching layer
    • Would need to rework the Plenario deployment process.
    • It would be about 3 working days (100%) * This has been on Plenario team's radar, but has been a "nice to have".
    • Config change is set to autoscale setup, but won't trigger this unless it is necessary.
  • Update on press release - UTurn to provide update
    • Met with Amazon and obtained clearance needed; will submit by 4/25

Review of recent and upcoming Plenario work

  • @willengler to discuss
  • API work from Roadmap is on schedule to be completed by end of April
  • Frontend work is also on track for completion (better response time for polygon queries)
  • ETL work has been de-prioritized, but most work has been completed.
  • On goal to API stabilization for geo-location filtering by 4/29
  • Next items:

  • Mobile>Advanced Search does not open on First try #184 assigned to @davidmatthews
  • Advanced Search>Adding Rules #185
    • We currently have this functionality on WindyGrid, however, it would be too difficult to implement on Plenario since it would be more performance intensive.
