StepMania supports various file formats for loading and saving chart data, both for its own data and inherited from other simulators.

SSC (StepMania 5)
SM (StepMania 3.9, 4)
DWI (Dance With Intensity)
JSON (SM Micro)
BMS/PMS
KSF
SMA

Other formats that StepMania can recognize that are useful to know:

CRS - Courses
LRC - Lyrics
REDIR - Theme redirects

INI is also used for various theme elements:

Fonts
Metrics.ini
3.9 era BGAnimations.ini (deleted in SM 5 branch, being replaced by lua files)
