Work in progress

This is not the final version

This page explains the release cycle for the MidoNet projects.

MidoNet

Major version is released every quarter.

Even releases (June and December) are focused on features. They only get critical bug fixes as well as security fixes.

Odd releases (March and September) are focused on stability and better compatibility to the upcoming OpenStack/Neutron release. They get critical and security fixes as well as receiving bug fixes back ported from the development branch.

MidoNet Release Cycle

The decisions to make a release for bug fixes happens in a release meeting (time and dates to be confirmed) Backport period is X+1 (6 months after release) ; there is a strong interest to extend it when there are enough resources.

MidoNet Openstack plugin

Major version is released every 6 months. Aligned with Openstack releases.

Patch releases are not scheduled, the release is discussed in a release meeting (time and dates to be confirmed).
