How to get a galaxy account

Pablo Moreno edited this page Sep 11, 2017 · 3 revisions

Obtaining a Galaxy account for a PhenoMeNal Cloud Research Environment (CRE) depends on which deployment you are using, as explained below.

PhenoMeNal Public Galaxy instance

This is the instance running at https://public.phenomenal-h2020.eu/, which is shared with other users and is not expected to be used for sensitive/private data, but only for trials before deciding to deploy your own PhenoMeNal Cloud Research Environment on a cloud provider where you have an account.

To obtain an account on the public instance follow these directions.

PhenoMeNal CRE deployed on a cloud provider (Google GCE, Amazon AWS, OpenStack)

If you have deployed your own PhenoMeNal CRE through the PhenoMeNal Portal to a supported cloud provider, then you the user who has done this deployment will have administrative access to Galaxy (with the email and password provided by that user to the PhenoMeNal Portal when deploying). If you are not that user/administrator, please ask that person to create a Galaxy account for you. He or she will need to go to:

  • Login with the administrative account into the Galaxy instance.
  • Click on Admin top menu
  • Then to the left side bar, under User management, click Users.
  • To the top right, click on the Create new user button.
  • Fill in the approppiate fields.
