Setting up eyetrackers with mouse emulation

If your eye tracker can control the mouse (move the cursor to where you are looking), it should be compatible with EyeMine in mouse emulation mode.

Set up your eye tracker

This step will depend on your eye tracker. Follow the instructions that came with your eyetracker, or the general guidance at Setting up your eyetracker.

Setting up mouse emulation

This step will depend on your eye tracker. You need to use the software provided with your eye tracker to set it up to control the mouse. For playing EyeMine, it should not be set up to do any mouse actions (such as a left click) on dwell. If you have it set up correctly, you should see the mouse moving to follow your eye gaze, and not clicking anywhere. Note that once you've started playing EyeMine, the mouse cursor will not be visible any more, but if you've set it up correctly your eye tracker will still be moving the (invisible) mouse.

Setting up EyeMine

Since you're using mouse emulation, you need EyeMine to use Mouse Input instead of an eyetracker. This is the default when it's first installed. If you've changed it, you can change it back by right clicking on EyeMine and opening the Settings. On the "Pointing & Selecting" tab, under "Source" select "Mouse position". EyeMine will restart when you save your settings.

Setting up Minecraft

You need to tell Minecraft that you're using mouse emulation instead of an eye tracker. To do this, go to the Minecraft menu and select "Mods" -> "EyeGaze" -> "Config" -> "Basic options" and turn on Mouse emulation compatibility mode. Note that if you want to use a fully-supported eye tracker later you will need to turn this off again.

NOTE: Occasionally the Mod list in Minecraft does not allow you to click on "Eye Gaze". If this happens, restart Minecraft and try again!
