User Story: Specific Poet Navigation

Story: As a user, I want to be able to navigate to the work of a specific poet so that I am only reading the poetry that I am interested in.

Estimated Size: Medium- Halsey, Medium (Isa), Medium(Kyle), Large(Whitney), Large (Luke)

Acceptance Criteria:

  • User can navigate the site through a fixed global navigation bar that stays with the user as they scroll through the site.
  • When the user searches for a specific poet, using the search bar, the user is taken the the correct listing without error.
  • Any poets that have the same name will be listed in the search results so that the user can select which result is correct.
  • The search function will account for spelling errors and will offer alternate suggestions for the user when a word is misspelled instead of showing a “Not Found” error.

User Story: Homepage Navigation

Story: As a user, I want to be able to easily navigate to the home page.

Estimated Size- Extra Small- Halsey, Small(Kevin), small (Isa), Small(Kyle), small(whitney)

Acceptance Criteria:

  • The logo for the site will function as a direct link to the home page and will be present on every page so that the user will always be able to navigate home.
  • There will also be a home page icon present in the navigation bar for any user who sees this icon as more recognizable.

User Story: Menubar Orientation

Story: As a user, I want to be able to know how the site is organized simply by looking at the menu so that I can easily find what I’m looking for.

Estimated Size: Medium- Halsey, Medium(Kevin), Medium (Isa), Medium(Kyle), Medium(Whitney)

Acceptance Criteria:

  • The global menu will contain simple submenus that are organized to fit within the main category.
  • The global navigation menu will include easily understandable terms that will not include jargon or technical terms.
  • The information in the submenu will be laid out in an organized and easy to read manner.

User Story: Orientation

Story: As a user, I want to be able to orient myself within the site at all times.

Estimated Size: Small- Halsey, Medium(Kevin), small (Isa), Small(Kyle), small(whitney), small(Luke)

Acceptance Criteria:

  • The global navigation bar will be present on all pages with no changes as the user navigates.
  • The home button will be ever present on the navigation bar in order to offer the user a method to return to the home page at any time.
