Agenda items

  • Reviewing Reviewable, part 2 (larsberg)
  • Whistler meetings, part 2 (larsberg)
  • Rustup status

Attending

  • mbrubeck, pcwalton, manish, larsberg, kmc, savago, azita, jdm

Reviewable

  • larsberg: Simon was also in favor of moving to Reviewable, as long as we don't break old / in-progress Critic reviews. We still need to follow up with Ms2ger. General consensus is that Reviewable is not perfect but an improvement over Critic.
  • kmc: The one advantage of Critic is UI responsiveness on very large reviews. Might be useful to keep it active but "hidden" so we can fall back to it.
  • larsberg: I'll follow up with Ms2ger later this week.

Whistler meetings

  • larsberg: We talked about this last week, but I'm trying to get meetings scheduled with any teams we want to talk to. If there are any people you want to meet with, let me know and I'll get them scheduled.
  • kmc: Is there a list somewhere?
  • larsberg: I'll put one up once I start getting in touch with people.

Rustup

  • larsberg: This been like 2013 all over again. ICEs, compiler bug, perf issues. But we're almost ready to land the Rust upgrade. Android and Gonk are working. We need to rebase, then we can start reviewing. This will bring us to a build from April 29, so we've taken all the breaking changes, including all the deprecation removals.
  • kmc: That might be (fingers crossed) the last horrible rustup ever.
  • larsberg: The last few days have been random ICEs, borrowck problems, and all sorts of changes to unstable/deprecated features. No breaking changes in the stable base. I do hold out hope that future upgrades will be more like our other recent ones, with just a couple days of work.
