MacPass allows you to read and write Keepass KDB and KDBX databases. Below there's a brief overview on what both formats offer and how they compare to each other. When you create a new database with MacPass, the default format is KDBX. You can alway upgrade a KDB database to a KDBX database, as KDBX fully supports all KDX features. If in doubt, stick to KDBX. You rarely should have a reason to use KDB instead.
