This page summarises the changes for version 7.36. We have a detailed VIPS ChangeLog and nip2 ChangeLog, but as headlines:

Tab markers : nip2 workspace tabs have markers on to indicate things like error status and locked or unlocked.

Reduced memory use : libvips has a new IO mode which reduces memory use in some important cases.

Simple rotate and scale : A new operation, similarity, makes scale and rotate easy from the command line.

Improved file format support : Support for webp, better tiff support, more flexible deepzoom support, smaller jpegs.

Other stuff : The libvips rewrite continues with the histogram functions this time. Plus some small improvements.

There's a post on the blog with some more information.

Plus the usual minor speed-ups, portability improvements, enhancements and bug fixes. What's New in 7.34 is still there if you're interested.
