Open issue about refactoring distance meta examples following the pattern in Euclidean distance port

Have a look / open issue / "do something" about CMahine's SolverType (cplex, elastic net, etc). Also CMachine's MachineType - seems to be used only in MKL. Can these ones go away? For MachineType, can we just use dynamic_cast instead?
