The Webmaker team has identified a few areas of focus to advance the project. These frame our features and bug fixes in terms of the needs of our users ... and help set priorities as we iterate toward a well rounded product experience.

Unlock discover

Users need to discover content that fits their interests and needs. When Webmaker does this well, we can connect users not only to content, but to each other, extending the impact of the network.

Make project creation easier

Users struggle to create and share rich content via mobile devices. When Webmaker enables this well, we can give people the power to create away from schools and offices, to capture the things that matter to them most.

Users need a tool that helps them create project that captures their imagination. Do this well, and users will surprise us and others with compelling content that draws in more users to the network.

Users need to know that they contribute a web of content and people. Do this well, and users will be able to separate signal from noise, find interesting content and know that their content has reached the eyes and minds of other people.

  • Add #hashtags to link and find related content
  • Add a "Favorites" system
  • Make it easier to flag featured projects
  • Shuffle featured projects in Discover

  • Add custom page background colors
  • Allow users to set start page
  • Add Shapes or Stickers as a content type
  • Consider "text" and "paragraph" a two distinct content types
  • Allow users to add images from web
  • Enable users to keep keep draft projects private

  • Notify users when their project is remixed, shared, or favorited.
  • Show users content and people that are related to the topics expressed in their projects.
