  1. Disabled time-out: The program executes the command to open the Boot Camp Control Panel, then waits indefinitely for it to open.

  2. Removed "active window" requirement: The Boot Camp Control Panel window no longer has to be the active window in order for the Control Panel configuration part of the script to run.

    • In previous versions, Boot Camp Control Panel had to be the active window for the Control Panel configuration part of the script to run. However, it sometimes never ran because the Boot Camp Control Panel never became the active window. This was especially prone to happening when the computer restarted after an update, got to the login screen (which is when the script starts running), and the script attempted to execute the command that makes the Boot Camp Control Panel the active window. However, since the Desktop isn't even visible yet (because the user hadn't yet logged back in), this command never succeeded. The script then timed out and terminated altogether. So by the time the user finally logs in, the script had already given up completely.

  • Download the Restore.Boot.Camp.Screen.Brightness.Fn.Keys.AutoLogon.exe installer if you would additionally like to set up your PC to automatically log in on boot. (Installing this version used to help with the functionality of the program, but not anymore.)
  • Download the Restore.Boot.Camp.Screen.Brightness.Fn.Keys.exe installer for the standard version that does not set up auto-login on boot.

IMPORTANT: This program is only intended to work if installed to C:\Program Files\Restore Boot Camp Screen Brightness Fn Keys. If installed elsewhere, go to Task Scheduler > [Right-click Restore Boot Camp Screen Brightness Fn Keys] > Properties > Actions tab > Edit... > Add arguments (Optional): and adjust the filepath to Restore Boot Camp Screen Brightness Fn Keys.exe.
