Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
The --reason flag has been deprecated and now always forces the reason to be printed, even when there are dozens/hundreds/thousands of input/output files for a particular rule. #2552 #1902 address these, but there has been no discussion about a meaningful approach to dealing with this.

Describe the solution you'd like
The --quiet option could have improved options to control these things. It currently has rule, progress, and all, but welcome additions would include reason to address the issues above, along with temporary (or something similar) that will quiet the yellow text logging when temporary files are being removed.

Describe alternatives you've considered
The --reason flag has already been deprecated, so no current options exist.
