Summary:

When running a UEFI firmware update from Arch, the update doesn't get staged onto the disk properly. This particular error is caused by not properly cleaning up the artifacts from a previous OS installation.

Due to a decision of the Arch packager this cleanup script is not run automatically.

Solution:

Run this systemd unit to manually clean up the files:

# systemctl start fwupdate-cleanup
