We would like to hold a discussion on the issue of scripting in EPUB. This would be an open discussion with the entire publishing production and reading systems community with the goal of coming to a decision on the state of scripting in EPUB 3.

Some of the topics/questions we'd like to cover:

  • What types of scripting do publishers want to use?
  • Which features/functionality are important to your books?
  • Security/privacy concerns
  • What are some reading system challenges/concerns with scripting?
  • What is stopping you from implementing scripting, or what would need to happen to implement?

This session will be open to members of the working group, community group, and the broader publishing community. This is a topic that affects many people, so we want to get as much feedback as possible.
