Overview

The EPUB 3.1 revision is the first major revision of EPUB 3 standard. This revision to the EPUB core specifications will focus on consolidation, simplification, and dependency updates, as well as addition of a select set of new features.

Charter

The EPUB 3.1 revision is operating under a charter granted by the IDPF membership.

Status

Current

Work on the EPUB 3.1 revision is now underway. No public drafts have yet been produced.

Note: the first face-to-face meeting of the working group will be held in New York City on October 8-9, 2015.

Future Milestones

A first draft specification is expected in January 2016.

Adoption Readiness Roadmap

An adoption readiness roadmap will be published after the profile has reached Proposed Specification status.

Reporting Issues

The working group's preferred method for reporting bugs in the specification is the github issue tracker.

IDPF members may also raise issues on the EPUB working group's mailing list. Please use the prefix "[EPUB31]" at the start of your email subject line.
