Helix is originally a command line system that is being ported over to a more user-friendly UI and standalone app. The purpose of the provided wiki pages is to document usage of Helix in both the command line form and UI form.

Whenever possible, it is highly encouraged to perform actions through the UI (like creating shows, sequences, shots, and elements) as it is clearer to see what results occur and how the database hierarchy is setup. Often times, it is better to start out in the UI and if something has not been implemented yet, move over to the command-line based system.
