OpenSCAD Enhancement Proposals

FIXME: This is an excellent idea, but to make it reality, the OEPs need to be structured in a way that make them useful. This means that initial validation of the proposal should be done (e.g. through mailing list or github issue discussions). In addition, a very concrete interface should be proposed, so there is no doubt what this proposal does. Discussion about ideas for improvement should happen somewhere else.

FIXME: Create a template for (or a few examples of) good enhancement proposals.

In the same spirit of the Python PEPs (Python Enhancement Proposals), this is a place for people to document ideas on how OpenSCAD could be further improved.

This is supposed to be better than a simple feature request in the issue tracker since it is meant to be a space for collaborative editing of deeper descriptions of feature ideas. Maybe something similar to the Launchpad blueprints feature. If you have an enhancement proposal, please create a wikipage and list it down here, with an incremental OEP number:
