3rd party hosts

JS.ORG does allow the use of its subdomains on other hosts besides Github Pages. Any host that allows you to use a CNAME DNS record to add a custom subdomain to your site should work. So far, we've seen folks using primarily the following other hosts:

  • alwaysdata.net
  • azurestaticapps.net
  • glitch.com
  • gitbook.com
  • gitlab.com
  • heroku.com
  • netlify.com
  • onrender.com
  • render.com
  • readthedocs.org
  • replit.com
  • surge.sh
  • vercel.com
  • pages.cloudflare.com
  • zeit.co

Unfortunately, we can't offer any support in case of problems in the setup. If you have questions about the configuration, it should be helpful to search the help section of the host for the keyword "custom domain".

You are also invited to write a short description of the necessary steps to a successful configuration here in the wiki.

For Cloudflare Pages, you will need to add the JS.ORG subdomain to your project as a custom domain via the API: https://developers.cloudflare.com/api/operations/pages-domains-add-domain -- it is not possible to add the JS.ORG subdomain as a custom domain through the Cloudflare dashboard.
