Importing and Exporting Topologies

Topology definitions

Topology definitions can be exported in the editor in the "Topology" tab. The exported file contains all the information that is needed to recreate the topology with all elements in the "created" state.

These exported files can be re-imported in the Web-Frontend using the menu item "Import Topology". This will create a new topology from the imported data. All elements will be in the state "created".

Disk images

To export all data of an experiment, also the disk images of the virtual machines have to be exported. THis can be done in the editor in the right-click menu of the elements when they are prepared.

In the state prepared, these disk images can also be uploaded again.

Executable archives

Since the disk images of most experiments are only slightly modified default templates the exported images are a huge waste of space in general. Executable archives can be used to export experiments in a way that saves space and also allows to include scripts.
