We will use this wiki to share information about the Methods. The primary audience for the wiki is the 18F team who maintains the Methods day-to-day. 18F folks working on this might also want to check out this README (18F only) that explains a bit more about how we're managing work across multiple products.
If you’re interested in editing or adding something to the Methods, start at Contributing. That’s our primary source of guidance for adding to this project.
The 18F Method cards help civic tech folks outside of 18F apply our best practices to their own work. It also helps potential and current partners to learn how 18F modernizes technology and explain that to others. To make it easier for them to do so, our content should be concise, simplified, step-by-step.
We seek to make our audiences feel confident and knowledgeable so that they’re more likely to apply human centered design methods in their own organization and/or hire a designer. When they do, we will establish shared expectations of design work across government and achieve improved public services, better technology, and better partnerships.
