The first-ever Zingg Community meetup with more than 10 participants from USA, France, UK and India. It was an interesting introductory community meetup with people excited about using and building with Zingg.

The group applauded the first external code contributor - Edmondo Porcu.

The community shared their experience of discovering and using Zingg and provided invaluable feedback to improve Zingg.

Questions asked:

  1. Does Zingg support Windows? (No!)
  2. Does Zingg have data lineage and data quality - or how easy is it to support those functions? (What we have currently is the framework to build learning applications on tabular data, many of our functions can be utilized to support other functions)

Here are some of the suggestions that came out of the interaction:

  • To target large enterprises, data stewardship is key. The ability to seek expert/domain/business user feedback is super critical. We can start with an easy way(excel?) but support this.
  • To support contributors, we need an explanation/documentation of the codebase.

Besides this, some users have expressed their desire to contribute documentation and recipes back to the codebase.
