Questions to Ask Yourself after a Partnered Exercise
- Compared to your partner, how would you evaluate your own skill level?
- Very Senior
- Slightly Senior
- Equal
- Slightly Junior
- Very Junior
- What percentage of your time did you spend driving? Navigating? Was it even?
- Did you feel comfortable with the way that time was allocated?
- On a scale of 1 through 5 (worst to best), rate how you performed for the following:
- As the Junior Pair:
- Being clear about being lost
- Making sure that you drove enough?
- Preventing your Sr. Partner from dominating the problems too much.
- As the Senior Pair
- Learning to Communicate with Partner
- Not Becoming a Driver-Navigator (when you dominate both roles)
- Picking a speed that your Junior Partner can maintain
- When driving, only illustrating in another text buffer (writing example code in another window or tab)
- As the Junior Pair:
- Did you fall into any of the anti-patterns?
- Overbearing
- Stubborn/Won't try other ideas
- Offensive
- Shy
- Dismissive
- Did you feel engaged?
- Number one thing to work on for yourself.
- Number one thing to work on for your partner.
