☝️ Your basic vue create app with a minimal vue.config.js shown below and a single web worker file under ./workers. You don't even need to include the file in your app to get the error.

In vue.config.js:

  // Generate workers via worker-loader, excluding them from the default 'js'
  // loader per advice here - https://github.com/vuejs/vue-cli/issues/2028
  chainWebpack: config => {
    config.module.rule('webWorker').post().test(/-worker\.js$/).use('worker-loader').loader('worker-loader')
  }

Steps to reproduce

vue-cli-service build

What is expected?

The build should complete without errors

What is actually happening?

The build fails with "Failed to compile with 0 errors"

Additional Info

chainWebpack: config => {
    config.plugins.delete('progress')
    config.module.rule('webWorker').post().test(/-worker\.js$/).use('worker-loader').loader('worker-loader')
    config.plugin('simple-progress-webpack-plugin').use(require.resolve('simple-progress-webpack-plugin'), [
      {
        format: 'expanded' // options are minimal, compact, expanded, verbose
      }
    ])
  }
→ [98%] Asset optimization ...
→ [100%] After asset optimization ...
→ [102%] After seal ...

ERROR Failed to compile with 0 errors

...and again with "verbose" output:

[23:54:01] Webpack (94%) - Optimize modules (asset optimization)
[23:54:01] Webpack (94%) - Optimize modules (after asset optimization)
[23:54:01] Webpack (95%) - Optimize modules (after seal)

ERROR Failed to compile with 0 errors

If I can just blow your mind for a minute... if I set the above plugin to verbose , the production build passes. I assumed this meant there was an issue with threading so I set parallel: false however that didn't seem to do anything.
