This version was put together to show how fun managing a datacenter can be in Virtual Reality and also for a bit of fun!

Make sure you run the on-prem.bat endpoint in the Wiremock folder before starting the demo.

Game Objective

in your On-premises datacenter your VM's will become highly utilized and show a warning symbol they must be migrated to VMware Cloud on AWS where we have on-demand capacity as fast as you can, you will have 2 minutes total.

How to Play

Migrate the highly utilized VMs to VMware Cloud on AWS fast!

If you hit the cloud you get +10 points
If you miss the cloud you get -3 points
If you pick up a VM that is not highly utilized and migrate it you get -5 points.

Please note, source code attached here does not reflect actual demo code at this point, download the VMware.VR.Datacenter.Experience.-.VMware.Cloud.on.AWS.Demo.zip file instead.

This preview experience allows you to simulate the demonstration given on stage at VMworld 2017 Barcelona by providing a walk through demonstration and API endpoints to simulate the On-Premises and VMware Cloud on AWS vCenter endpoints.

For best results please read through the script attached and watch the online video

Instructions

  • Download and unzip attached ZIP file
  • Launch the On-Prem_Endpoint.bat and VMC_Endpoint.bat files to launch the simulated endpoints
  • Ensure your VR device has been setup and is active in Steam VR
  • Launch the VMware VR Datacenter Experience executable
  • Follow the walk through demo from the attached Word Document
