Wainwright Peaks

A list of all 214 Lake District peaks described by Alfred Wainwright in his Pictoral Guide to the Lakeland Fells.

For each peak, the data includes:

• Name
• Height (Metres and Feet)
• Col & Drop heights (Metres)
• Location (Latitude/Longitude, Ordnance Survey Reference)

Data

The data directory contains all raw and processed data.

All of the hills Britian and Ireland can be found in british-and-irish-hills-v-17-4.csv

all_hills contains a processed list of all possible hills

wainwrights contains a list of hills which are part of the Wainwrights (not including the Outlying Fells).

Running the Data

Simply run the following from the root directory

python3 ./src/main.py

Raw data (british-and-irish-hills.csv) is from The Database of British and Irish Hills v17.4 (Link) available under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence.

This data was used as is, without modification.
