So, lets start with some git basics for future reference. Don't use master branch for publishing changes. Create a topic branch instead, e.g.: git checkout master && git checkout -b polish_translation. Then push polish_translation branch to github and create a pull request. You don't have to do it now, but in future you will see why this is important.

Put your first and last name, and E-mail address into ~/.gitconfig (see http://book.git-scm.com/2_setup_and_initialization.html). This will allow git to make commits with more accurate (than unknown) authorship information. To fix authorship information of a commit, issue git commit --amend --author="first last <email>". To fix the first commit, you will have to use interactive rebase first. Then make sure to use -f in git push.

The second commit should be squashed into the first one, because it simply fixes what the first commit should have done.

There are a few issues that have to be fixed. Otherwise this pull request looks good to me.

Thanks. Looks good. @asmeurer: unless you see some obvious technical issue, this is ready to be merged.

How should we handle the translation of the pages? Should we simply make a copy of them, so that they don't clash with the English pages, something like:

http://sympy.org/pl/

?

We actually have a task about that. See http://www.google-melange.com/gci/task/view/google/gci2011/7127301.

Ok, the translation has been approved by Mateusz and the GCI task is done. Now it needs to be converted to a .po file. I will keep this open until this is done.
