This repository contains spatial data representing protected areas of United Arab Emirates.
According to the IUCN, a protected area is defined as “an area of land and/or sea especially dedicated to the protection and maintenance of biological diversity, and of natural and associated cultural resources, and managed through legal or other effective means” (1, 2). The data in this repository tries to capture an up-to-date set of these areas in the United Arab Emirates.
This dataset is released under a CC BY 4.0 license.
