We are Robbe and Ruwan, two software engineers from 🇧🇪 Belgium who maintain Connexion, almost entirely in our free time.

Connexion is a modern Python web framework that makes spec-first and api-first development easy. You describe your API in an OpenAPI (or swagger) specification with as much detail as you want and Connexion will guarantee that it works as you specified 🤯

We took over Connexion 2 years ago.

• The first year we worked through the backlog of 400+ open issues and learned the ins and outs of the code base while releasing new versions regularly again.
• The second year we mainly worked towards Connexion 3.0, a redesign of Connexion as an ASGI middleware stack, which brings new modern features to Connexion (such as asynchronous support), and solves some of the longest-standing issues.

Connexion 3 is now generally available. We're excited for you to try it out! 😍
