This wiki contains information relating to the WordPress Simple SMTP plugin, which can be found on the WordPress Plugin Directory.

Please see the navigation box for the pages inside the wiki.

Goals

The goals of the Simple SMTP plugin are to simply achieve:

  • Being incredibly simple and easy to setup and get going.
  • Provide a near-native experience with WordPress.
  • Provide native integrations that follow the same simple methodology (wp-cli, etc).
  • Provide a clean code basis for users with advanced/bespoke needs to fork the plugin easily.
  • Commitment to no dashboard spam (no unnecessary notifications, adverts, distractions, etc).

Email configuration is one of the most desired features of WordPress, as by default it relies on the native server configuration which is often not enabled. This plugin wishes to be the feature WordPress doesn't have, by seamlessly integrating with your WordPress experience and acting like it should've been there the whole time.
