Thank you very much for taking the time to view our web-app! We hope you are able to swiftly navigate through the interface and get to your National Park Site of choice as soon as possible! Make sure you pack your gear, supplies, and clothing according to the conditions at the specific park site, especially for longer trips. Have a great time and enjoy your adventure!

Description

This is a one stop shop website that gives you everything you need to know about a national park site in one place, based on your preferences. We want to help users like you spend your precious time at one of America’s national park site, not online trying to get there.

Usage

  • Search Form

    1. Enter your starting address or a state and click the search button.
    2. Choose a button to advance: topic or activity.
    3. Choose a topic you would like to learn about or an activity you would like to do inside of a national park.
    4. Choose a National Park that meets the criteria you are searching for.
    5. Click the star button if you want to favorite that national park.
  • Search Bar

    1. Enter the name of a national park and click the search button.
    2. Choose a National Park that meets the criteria you are searching for.
    3. Click the star button if you want to favorite that national park.
  • Favorite Parks

    1. Click a favorite park to go to the specific details page about that park.
  • Extra Buttons

    • Click the home button to return to the home page.
    • Click the "Topics or Activities" button to go to the Topics or Activities page.
    • Click the back arrow button if you need to go back a page.
    • Click the star button if you want to favorite a national park.

Future Development Ideas

  • Include U.S. Territories in the database.
  • Add descriptions to the website to help the user navigate the pages.
  • Add more details to the description page of each national park site.
  • A separate page for the user’s favorite parks.
  • Use the National Park Service API to dynamically populate the topics and activities.
