This release introduces some battery optimization techniques. One is that the logic that waits for a GPS signal before initiating recording is far less aggressive (it used to happen every clock cycle, about a thousand times every second when you take serial logging into consideration). The other big one is log scaling. When a rider increases or decreases speed considerably, the logging resets to once a second. Otherwise, if the rider is going at a pretty consistent speed, logging is done less frequently.

There have been updates on a meta project level too. There are now community standards in the forms of a code of conduct and a contributing guide as well as templates for pull requests and issues.

This release is named brew because brew is a drink of coffee that almost anyone can think of something when they read it. For me a brew is usually a pour over cup of coffee, but there are many ways to brew coffee, and everyone will be able to think of something.

This is the first release of the Bodgecycle Computer. As such, there's no change log. Because that's how change logs work. The information about what Bodgecycle Computer does is pretty well laid out in the README, so go check that out!

I codenamed this release "Americano" because coffee and bicycles seem to be pretty well intertwined and the first release should start with an "A." Americano is also a drink that most people have at least some passing familiarity with.

If you don't know what an Americano is, it's an espresso mixed with water.
