Resetting Keybindings

Bubs edited this page Dec 11, 2023 · 1 revision

There are two methods for resetting the keybindings made by SharpKeys. The first method uses the program itself to reset the bindings. The second method requires deleting entries in the system registry using the Registry Editor utility.

Method #1

  1. Open the SharpKeys program
  2. Click "Delete All" to remove all mappings
  3. Click "Write to Registry" to remove all the mappings
  4. Reboot your computer to apply the changes to the registry

Method #2

Use this method at your own risk! Deleting or editing the wrong entries can harm or even destroy your operating system!

  1. Open The search bar on your taskbar (or open "Run" by pressing Win+R)
  2. Type regedit and press Enter
  3. Using the sidebar, navigate to and open the folder located at Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout
  4. Right-click the "Scancode Map" entry and click "Delete"
  5. Reboot your computer to apply the changes to the registry
