At first the application is needed to be run and on hitting the start button on the applet viewer the server initiates to listen to the incoming connections. The client side is developed for android devices. On start of the application we need to enter the IP address of the machine on which the server is running. On pressing connect the server listens to the connection from client. It accepts the connection and client server are set up to exchange text messages. The text messages are stored in to the ArrayList adapter. Messages from both side are displayed on the screen in the order they are received and send. On closing the application, the socket connection is closed. The application works on TCP. No messages are lost during the execution. Both the server and client need to be in the same network to be connected.

1. Run DSProjectServerJAR file as server.
2. Run AndroidChatapp APK file on any android device and start application.
3. After running server press "start" button  to start server.
4. Enter IP of desktop on which server is running on client android device.
5. Start chatting.
