File Manager

This page walks through some of the features of the OpenDXL Environment Console's File Manager.

As highlighted in the screen shot above, the opendxl directory that was created during the installation process is mapped to /opendxl within the container.

Clicking on individual rows in the file manager will select them, while double clicking on a directory will descend into it, displaying its contents.

Multiple selection is also supported in the file manager.

SHIFT can be used to select a consecutive set of files and folders.
CONTROL on Windows and COMMAND on Mac can be used to select multiple files anywhere in the file list (not necessarily next to each other).

The following table describes the action buttons that reside across the bottom of the file manager interface:

        Button         Name Description
Help Displays the Cloud Commander Help page.
Rename Displays a dialog that allows for the last selected file/folder to be renamed.
View Displays viewer with the contents of the last selected file/folder. If the selected item is a folder, details about its contents are displayed.
Edit Displays editor with the contents of the last selected file/folder. If the selected item is a folder, details about its contents are displayed.

See the File Editor page for detailed information regarding the file editor.
New Directory Displays a dialog prompt used to create a new directory.
Delete Deletes the currently selected files/folders.
Menu Displays a context-sensitive pop-up menu for the selected files/folders.

See Context Menu for more information.
Settings Displays the Cloud Commander settings dialog.
Terminal Opens the command line terminal.

See the Terminal page for detailed information regarding the terminal.

Context Menu

The context menu displays actions that can be performed on the selected files/folders. Some of these actions duplicate functionality already available via the buttons on the bottom of the interface (view, edit, delete, etc.) while others are unique to this menu (cut, copy, paste, etc.).
