Translations of the NumPy website
Until 2020, NumPy has not had any translations as part of the project website or documentation. We are starting now - July 2020. To start, we will translate the NumPy website - both because it has the highest-level information about the project, and because it's a tractable task. If this is successful, we may start translating the high-level documentation. For more rationale, see the translations section of NEP 28 on the website redesign. We use Crowdin as our translation platform. Crowdin provides a simple web based interface for translators, proof readers and managers.
To start translating please visit https://crwd.in/numpyorg to sign up, and please also add yourself here if you would like to be one of the maintainers of a language for NumPy.
- If the language is already enabled on Crowdin, translations can start there. If not, please bring it up on the website.
- When a new language is introduced, there is one custom PR needed to translate the strings in
config.yml
. See https://github.com/numpy/numpy.org/pull/336 for an example of what needs to be added there.
