This application targets all the music lovers out there, a place where fans can explore what songs were at the top of the Billboard Charts at any given date in history. Provided with a calendar starting with the current date, users will be able to navigate into a specific month, day, and year to find out what song was #1 on that date in history on the Billboard Top 100 Charts as well as the other top 5 songs of that date. If available, the user will also be provided with:
- Album cover
- Link to music video
- Link to page with biography and more information on that artist
The dates that the user chooses will be saved at the bottom of the page for future reference.
AS a music enthusiast
I WANT to search for the top billboard hits of a particular date in time
SO THAT I can view information about the top artists of that day. This information includes a photo, a bio, and in some cases a video.
When the page is deployed, the user will be provided with an information box about the page and instructed to press "Agree" button to proceed to the page.
Steps to follow once in the page:
- An input box is provided under "Date: " that once clicked, a calendar will pop up with the current day, month, and year.
- Click on the month to select different option.
- Click the year to go back in increments of 20.
- When the date is selected, the user must click the "Submit" button and a card will pop up with the date selected followed by artist name, song title, album cover (if available), link to biography page, and other top 5 songs of that date.
- If there is a video for that song available, a link will be provided. If no video is available, a modal popup will appear with a "no video available" message and will be instructed to select another date.
- When the user clicks on the provided link(s), it will take the user to a new page where a YouTube video will deploy for the specified song or the biography page will deploy in another window.
- Previous selected dates will be saved at the bottom of the page for user to refer back to.
