jRotator

jRotator — a jQuery rotator plugin.

A simple jQuery rotator with smart defaults. This rotator uses CSS translation & transform to rotate elements across the screen—making it performant for mobile devices.

Usage

<script src="https://code.jquery.com/jquery-2.2.0.min.js"></script>
<script src="src/js/jRotator.min.js"></script>

Call the jRotator:

$('.parent').jRotator();

The markup should look something like so:

<div class="parent">
	<div class="child">
	</div>
	<div class="child">
	</div>
	<div class="child">
	</div>
</div>

NOTE that the total width of children elements (.outerWidth(true)) must be one child element width larger than the width of the parent (.outerWidth()), to ensure there are no 'gaps' in your rotator. If the parent width is too long, the children elements will not rotate and instead center themselves in the parent div.

The following .notransition class should be added to your site as is. Feel free to modify the names of the .parent and .child classes, just make sure these styles apply to their respective elements.

.parent {
    position: relative;
    overflow: hidden;
}

.child {
    position: absolute;
    vertical-align: middle;
    display: inline-block;
}

.notransition {
    -webkit-transition: none !important;
    -moz-transition: none !important;
    -o-transition: none !important;
    -ms-transition: none !important;
    transition: none !important;
}

Configuration

translationSpeed

Speed of the jRotator. Lower means slower. Default is 100. Override with:

$('.parent').jRotator({translationSpeed: 100});
