Hello, I'm Jean Lucca

Introduction

Hello there! Welcome to my personal README on GitHub. I'm a passionate and versatile engineer with a background in mechanical engineering and over three years of experience in software development. I have a strong expertise in fast prototyping, thinking in solutions, managing people and resources. I specialize in firmware development for microcontrollers, IoT devices, mobile app development and backend development. In addition to that, I'm currently exploring the exciting world of Data Science and Machine Learning.

Background

Mechanical Engineer Turned Software Developer: My journey began as a mechanical engineer, where I honed my problem-solving and analytical skills. However, my fascination with the world of software, the ascending market of IoT and its boundless possibilities led me to transition into a career as a software developer. Yeah, I was that guy, who was always trying to make a python script work with an Excel spreadsheet because, "why not?" or trying to automate everything because I'm too lazy to "just copy and paste" every time.

Personally I don't regret finishing my Mechanical Engineering degree. I think Engineering schools, can develop some kind of project vision, analytical and logical thinking and resources and people management. Nowadays I see myself as someone who can think in solutions for the real world, predict possible errors or problems, make a roadmap and then make it real.

Some of the tools I'm familiar with:

Experiences

  • Firmware Development for IoT Devices

I've learned to work with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and C++ programming for microcontrollers. I've worked on various projects where I had to optimize performance and ensure real-time responsiveness. I have hands-on experience in developing firmware for Internet of Things (IoT) devices. From connecting sensors to data processing and communication protocols.

  • Mobile App Development

Flutter: I've started creating cross-platform mobile applications using Flutter. Its versatility and fast development cycles allow me to turn ideas into polished, feature-rich apps in no time.

  • Backend Development

PHP: I have expertise in PHP and have worked on building robust and scalable backend systems. From API design to database management.

  • Python Scripting

Python is my go-to language for various scripting needs. Whether it's automating tasks, data processing, or building small utilities, Python helps me get the job done efficiently.

  • Data Science and Machine Learning

Aspiring Data Scientist: I'm currently diving into the realm of Data Science and Machine Learning. From data analysis to predictive modeling, I'm eager to leverage data-driven insights to make informed decisions and build intelligent applications.

  • Learning and Growth

I strongly believe in continuous learning and personal growth. Besides, I consider myself a fast learner. Here are some of the topics I'm currently learning and exploring:

    • Data Science and Machine Learning: I'm diving deep into the world of data science, statistics, and machine learning algorithms.
