With this approach, I can launch huge maps of functions in the EC2 standalone mode. After applying this change, no function remains is state Pending, passing all functions to state Running. Seems that this PR solves the issue #1346.

I just realized that very recently (a few commits ago: 267601a) this fact was taken into account. Please feel free to close this issue and the related PR if the bug was previously resolved by you.
