Profile not loaded , gaia fails (cached version 304)

I see an issue (with speed-spend.netlify.app) where I can login and publish a file (stx.json) correctly for some users, for other users publishing the file and retrieving the profile fails.

The main difference is that the public profile.json file is returned with code 200 or 304 (cached version). For one user, the profile can't be shown and for publishing the following error is thrown:

PreconditionFailedError: "Error when uploading to Gaia hub.

For the other user, the profile is shown but publishing the files fails wit the same error.

I also see that connect writes urls without a slash at the send :-/

The profile not loaded issue could be a duplicate to #314
